Thanks for visiting!
Most people associate needle pain with past experiences involving hypodermic needles. One hypodermic needle can fit 10 acupuncture needles inside its tip. The needles used in acupuncture are thin, tiny and flexible, and not much larger than a cat's whisker! Once the needles are inserted, clients may experience different sensations, but the most commonly reported sensation is one of relaxation, and cessation or release of both physical and psychological pain. This suggests that the treatment is working.
It is very safe. Acupuncture has been used for over 3000 years to help many people get well, and stay healthy, avoiding costly drugs and surgery. The FDA requires that acupuncturists follow strict safety guidelines, including the use of sterile needles labelled for single use only.
I accept cash, and most major credit cards (Visa and Mastercard), which may include a processing fee.
I accept most insurance types. A few that I accept include Kaiser (via American Specialty Health Group), Aetna, Healthnet, Blue Shield and Cigna. Please contact me if you'd like to confirm that I accept your insurance.
The first visit includes a consultation to develop a plan appropriate to the patient, as well as your first treatment. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing, and shoes and socks that you can easily slip off before treatment. Try to eat a small snack before you arrive, and be sure to hydrate afterwards. Visits are usually an hour long but the first visit may run a bit longer due to the consultation.
This will vary with each patient. Generally, clients with acute conditions will see faster results than those with chronic conditions, but each individual is unique and heals at a different pace. The most important thing is that we see improvement and progress being made in treating your condition. I am very proactive in helping my clients and have a good record of success.
My hours are by appointment only. Please contact me for an appointment.
